Mojave Joshua Trees

These are such unusual trees. Nothing like this grows where I come from. In fact, they are only found in the United States, and only in California, Arizona, Utah, and Nevada. This photo was taken after midnight in the middle of the Mojave National Preserve. Shooting in the desert at night is a wonderful, peaceful experience. I didn't see another vehicle or human being all night.
