Abandoned Church #4
Dorothy, Alberta

This is the interior of the United Church at Dorothy. I love how the moonlight through the windows projects onto the opposite wall! Considering that this church has been disused since 1961, it is in surprisingly good condition. The building has shifted and twisted over time however, and the door you see in the distance partially bathed in moonlight has sunk rather permanently into the floor. Shortly after I shot these photos, a friend of mine who is an avid ghost town fan expressed an interest in getting married here. I replied to his e-mail suggesting that he had better plan a small wedding since personally, I wouldn't trust the floor here to more than 8 or 10 people at a time. In the end, he had his wedding at an equally historic but more structurally sound location.
