It
was a beautiful, warm, moonlit September night in southwestern Saskatchewan,
Canada and I was exploring the dying towns along highway 32 when I decided
to head even further off the beaten path and check out some secondary roads.
I came across this old single room school house on secondary 332 standing
alone atop a hill literally in the middle of nowhere.
Remember when your parents told you about having to leave home at 4:00 AM
and walk 10 miles through 3 foot deep snow to get to the one room school house
out on the windswept prairie, only to sit in their desks and freeze for a
couple more hours until the old wood stove finally thawed the frost off the
windows? Remember your parents or grandparents telling you about that? I think
this must be where they all went to school!
