Town Pump
Bateman, Saskatchewan

Here's a look at the municipal water system in Bateman. There are two of these pumps still standing, this one and another on the opposite end of town. This area has been hit by drought year after year. It was hot, windy and dry on this road trip. I wondered if the pump still worked but it only squeaked dryly as I tried the handle.
