Hosmer Mining Ruins #7

I wish I could go back in time about a hundred years and see what these buildings looked like when they were filled with equipment and in use. There are strange holes like this between sections of the structure all over the place. Note the mounting bolts cast into the concrete. I wonder what used to be here?

I tried something unusual to focus this shot. First, I began the exposure with the lens focused on the wall and broken pillar in the foreground. I quickly added light to this area, then set the lens to infinity for the remainder of the shot, adding the green lighting in the distance and allowing the moon to fill in the background. This technique would have been impossible if there was existing light present in the foreground. Fortunately the camera is facing toward the moon and this area was in shadow.
