The moon was rising behind the building as I exposed this photo. Working mostly with darkness in the foreground, this shot provided a great opportunity to add lots of color. Getting a clear definition between the purple on the building and the red grass in the foreground was tricky. I lit the building at a shallow angle from each side but I had to illuminate the foreground without the light spilling onto the storefront. The only thing I could think of that would provide such tightly controlled light was a laser. I set my laser pointer to "line" mode and played it over the grass for about a minute. Seems it worked!
