This is all that remains of "Mr. Diplomat", a Bucyrus-Erie 950B stripping shovel used in coal mining operations here from 1962 through 1984. This bucket has three times the capacity of the Marion 360, depicted previously in this photo series. When Mr. Diplomat was cut up for scrap in 1991, it was still the largest stripping shovel in Canada.
